First on our list is a traveler favorite and, it’s one of the best ways to experience a more authentic side of St. Lucia. 

The Friday night street party at Gros Islet is where many St. Lucians come to unwind.

And, many tourists from hotels in the north also flock there to enjoy the street party.  

A few of the streets in Gros Islet get closed off to allow the freedom of movement for party-goers. 

If it’s your first time there, it’ll be a real eye-opening experience as you wander the streets of Gros Islet.

You’ll get to sample delicious local St. Lucian food, including tasty barbecued meat and freshly-caught seafood grilled to perfection.

At the street party, you will find many a flavor of local St. Lucian spiced rum for your drinking pleasure.

2. Spend the day at Reduit Beach

Reduit Beach (pronounce Red-Wee, in case you were wondering how to say it) is one of the longest beaches in the north of St. Lucia.

If you need a day to relax and recharge, Reduit beach is an excellent place to do it.

Recline on the beautiful white sand, or rent a beach chair on the beach to soak up the blazing Caribbean sun. 

To upgrade your experience while there, book yourself a spa pampering session from Spencer – a masseuse who does massages right on the beach.

If you’re feeling more adventurous, you can rent a jet ski to explore the surrounding bay and enjoy the scenery. 

Since Reduit beach is one of the more accessible beaches in the north, it is very popular with tourists, so on cruise ship days, it can get a bit crowded.

 

3. Hike Fort Rodney and Signal Peak at the Pigeon Island National Park

If you’re in for some adventure while staying in the Rodney Bay area, then consider the hike up Fort Rodney and signal peak in the Pigeon Island National Park.

Built in 1778, Fort Rodney was used by both the French and the British Army during the 14 battles for St Lucia. 

There you will also find lots of historical ruins from the wars.

You can enjoy a guided tour with a detailed history lesson on Pigeon Island.

And, you will get to experience some stunning views of the island. 

Fort Rodney is joined to Signal Peak by a saddle, so you can easily visit both sites on the same day. 

The trek to Signal Peak is a little more strenuous, so bear this in mind if you are bringing your kids.

4. Go Jet-skiing between Pigeon Island and Rodney Bay

The coastline between pigeon Island and Rodney Bay has fascinating scenery.

And, renting a jet ski is an excellent way to get a panoramic view of it. 

If you’ve never used a jet ski before, you may feel a bit nervous about trying it.

Treasure Bay Casino is St Lucia’s only casino located inside the Baywalk Mall.  

There you’ll find slot machines and table games to indulge in your favorite type of gambling. 

They also have lots of big screens showing sporting events from around the world.

So, you can watch the big game while you chill at their bar, having a drink, and enjoying the light food menu. 

6. Go Shopping at Bay Walk Mall & JQ Rodney Bay Mall

Shopping may be an essential part of your holiday. 

And there’s not a more convenient place to do it than at Bay Walk Mall & JQ Rodney Bay Mall.

The two malls are in the heart of Rodney Bay, – side by side and separated by the main road.

There you will find shops selling all kinds of merchandise, including St. Lucia souvenirs that you can take home for friends and family.

7. Hike Up Mount Pimard

St. Lucia has a wide variety of delicious tropical fruits.

At Felly Belly, you can choose from a selection of local fruits and veggies that are blended into a fresh smoothie to delight your taste buds.

10. Eat More Authentic Local Food at the Triangle PUB

Rodney bay has many restaurants. 

But, 

If you want to try a more authentic type of St. Lucian food, then you should try the food at triangle PUB. 

Well, it’s more of a well-organized food stall with a sitting area than a PUB. 

But,

They have a delicious menu.

On their menu, you are sure to find something to tempt your taste buds, even if you’re a picky eater. 

One thing for sure, the food there tastes delicious. 

You can tell by just observing a large number of locals who flock there to grab lunch.  

You can buy food from about 11 am, just in time for lunch. 

And, 

If you’re a big eater, you need not worry as their portion sizes are very generous! 

The meals costs between 12 and 23 dollars EC depending on whether you buy a small or large meal or if it’s meat or fish. 

If you’re a vegan, you can have them leave out the meat and increase the portion sizes on your greens.

The experiences Rodney Bay has to offer are many, compared to other parts of St. Lucia.
