How to Spend the Perfect Day in Marigot Bay

There are many interesting  things to do in St. Lucia, particularly in Marigot Bay.

Marigot Bay is a stunning natural harbor that is surrounded by lush forested hillsides that meet crystal blue waters of the Caribbean Sea.

The bay is considered one of the most beautiful in the Caribbean, and you will confirm this once you set your foot there.

You won’t be a lone visitor, as this popular natural harbor welcomes yachts to anchor for a few days so that sailors can enjoy the setting.

The harbor offers a variety of accommodation options. You might decide to sleep in one of the many secluded inns, or choose a sophisticated hotel with beautiful palm trees by the beach.

The yachts and boats that visit this natural harbor are also a sight to behold. You can take a leisured stroll through the harbor as you appreciate the craftsmanship of various boats and yachts.

Don’t spend too much of your day strolling, you can go relax by the beach as you take in the warmth of the Caribbean sun.

If you are an adrenaline junkie, you’re in luck. There are many water sports activities that you can do.

Windsurfing, paddle boarding and kayaking are some of the water sports activities offered at this wonderful bay.

 

There’s Great food in Marigot Bay

Your experience at Marigot Bay would not be complete without tasting the tantalizing cuisines offered there.

You might decide to try out the foods by the water side in one of the local restaurants or at the rain forest hideaway.

To appreciate the full breadth of the various cuisines offered at the bay, you can visit the Doolittle restaurant and peruse the menu.

This restaurant gained international popularity for being a location in the popular Dr. Doolittle film.

If you’d like to have your meals overlooking Marigot Bay’s gorgeous view, then you can head up the hills to one of the restaurants for some delicious local St. Lucian cousin.

 

Visit Roseau and Anse La Ray near Marigot Bay

You can visit St. Lucia’s largest banana plantation. It is located in Roseau Valley which is just a short drive from Marigot Bay.

You can also tour the Rum distillery also found in Roseau Valley.

St. Lucia Distillery

While at the distillery, you can pick one or two bottles of local rum as souvenirs. Before you buy the rum, you can even sample it and learn about how it is made.

During a tour of the distillery, you’ll also get to learn about the history of St. Lucia’s sugar plantations.

What to experience St. Lucia’s rural life? Then visit the village of Anse La Ray which is a short distance from Roseau Valley.

In this small fishing village, you may encounter fishermen bringing in their catch or farmers on the road side selling their crop.

It’s a nice peaceful village, so you can just wander around and observer the culture and way of life of the people.

It does not matter what you decide to do in and around Marigot Bay, but you’re going to have a delightful time there. The experience will keep you coming back
